A Computer Science PhD variety of adsorbents such as carbon, hydrogels, clays, silca gels etc employed for the removal of radionuclides from aqueous solutions have been reported; but each has inherent limitations. The discovery of mesoporous materials with large surface area and wide uniform pores has provided a new dimension for the removal/recovery of radionuclides.
This Computer Science PhD project aims to develop new mesoporous silicates that have selectively for certain radionuclides or families of radionuclides. This will be achieved by engineering specific sites within the silicate structure during the preparative stage that can accommodate specific radionuclides whilst excluding others. This Computer Science PhD exclusion may be based on size and/or interactions with functional groups inserted into the lattice structure

Organizing Computer Science PhD Scholarship’s 2011

When the Computer Science PhD College of Advanced Technology was founded in 1829, Denmark had its first MSc programme in Engineering at a high academic level. The College changed its name to Danish Technical College in 1933 and finally became the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 1994. DTU Computer Science PhD has always had a strong theoretical grounding. H.C. Ørsted, the man who discovered electromagnetism, founded the College in the image of École Polytechnique in France. The Computer Science PhD objective was to educate young men to work in industry, but in the beginning DTU was not able to teach practice, so the college mainly educated technical teachers.
Details:

The Computer Science PhD scholarship’s will play an integral part of the project: Marine Structures of the Future, financed by the Danish Council for Technology and Innovation through a corporation with the GTS-institute DHI. The Computer Science PhD background for the project is the extensive development of coastal and offshore areas due to implementation of offshore wind turbines, aquaculture, impact of climate changes on coastal structures and large scale dredging operations that will take place in connection with these developments but also in connection with construction of bridges and submerged tunnels.
