Clinical Skills Champion (Simulation) Computer Science Phd

We would like to appoint a Clinical Skills Champion at consultant level. He/She will be expected to contribute to the development of new integrated simulation scenarios reflective of the workplace such as ward rounds, outpatient scenarios/HDU events. The skills champion will need to act as a leader of the use of evidence based simulation to prepare students for practice. They will also have a major role in ensuring transfer of this practice into the workplace. The clinical skills champions will also support the embedding of a patient safety culture in the simulation scenarios reflective of the healthcare environment.

Key Areas of responsibility / Key results areas / main tasks

Take a lead role in initiating the development and delivery of authentic simulation exercises reflective of current healthcare practice and the patient journey Provide expert medical advice for use in clinical assessment. Contribute to the evaluation of simulated exercises Contribute to the dissemination of the use of simulation in the continuous improvement of clinical skills education and safe practice in the workplace Develop and co-ordinate educational research priorities related to authentic simulation as part of the CSC team Liaise and collaborate with clinical educators to enhance the opportunities for interprofessional education Negotiate, agree and review personal and professional development activities.
