PhD studentships University of Manchester

The School of Law has a long-standing reputation as one of the UK’s most distinguished centres of excellence for the study of law, legal processes and related issues. We have a thriving research school of 80 PhD and MPhil students, researching in Law, Criminology, Socio-Legal Studies, and Bioethics.
The School is currently able to offer up to 12 funding awards for excellent applicants:

UK/EU students:

• ESRC and AHRC studentships for well qualified UK and EU applicants – fees and stipend - deadlines 19 March (ESRC) and 15 March (AHRC). ESRC studentships are offered in the area of criminology or socio-legal studies, particularly youth gangs and delinquency, regulation, and violence.

International/UK/EU applicants:

• Law School scholarships – well-qualified applicants in any area of study - contribution to tuition fees - deadline 28 April
• Wellcome Trust studentships for study in the area of the School’s Centre for Social Ethics and Policy and prospective students of the structured PhD in Bioethics and Medical Jurisprudence – home/EU fees and stipend - details to follow
•Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTAs) combining PhD study and teaching experience – home/EU fees and stipend – deadline 28 April
• Graduate Research Assistantships (GRAs) combining PhD study and research assistance - home/EU fees and stipend - deadline 28 April
• Faculty of Humanities Overseas Research Scholarship – for an overseas candidate with exceptional academic merit and research potential - contribution to tuition fees - deadline 16 April

EURAPS/AAPS Fellowship, Netherlands computer science phd

To foster the relationship between EURAPS (European Association of Plastic Surgeons) and AAPS (American Association of Plastic Surgeons), EURAPS voted to award a 3-month fellowship to a European Plastic Surgeon to improve his mastery in plastic surgery by visiting a selected American Plastic Surgery Center.

Eligibility

Candidates must be fully accredited (EC) and actively practising plastic surgery in Europe for less than 10 years. They must be able to communicate well in both written and spoken English.


Application

4 copies of the following documents must arrive at the Euraps Central Office (G 04.122), Heidelberglaan 100, 3584 CX Utrecht, The Netherlands, before December 1st, each year:
1. C.V.
2. A letter from the candidate describing his proposed program and motivation.
3. The names of the institutes of choice. The candidate may propose only two institutes but may state a preference.
4. A letter of acceptance from the welcoming Institute.
5. The names of two EURAPS sponsors.

Selection

A selection Committee appointed by the EURAPS General Assembly will consider the applications and choose the best.

Conditions

One fellowship per year will be awarded by EURAPS. The fellowship must be completed before the end of the following year. A forfeit allowance of € 6000, travel included, will be granted.

The Secretary General of EURAPS will give notification of the winner to the head of the host institute and to the candidates before March 15th of the following year.
